The conflict between Israel and Hamas has continued to intensify, with the war persisting for over a month. The actions of the extremist group Hamas have led to the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis and the abduction of hundreds of civilians.
Iran has traditionally provided support and funding to Hamas for carrying out its agenda, as well as other extremist organizations across the Middle East. However, Iran has recently declared that they will not be cooperating with Hamas in their struggle against Israel.
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, conveyed to Ismail Haniyeh that Iran would continue to offer moral backing but would not directly participate in the conflict against Israel. This resolution came after Khamenei exerted pressure on Haniyeh to suppress the Palestinian appeals for Iran and Hezbollah (one of its affiliated extremist groups) to fully join forces with them.
Iad Elbazam, spokesperson for the Hamas-run Ministry of Interior, held a press conference which was disrupted by a bystander expressing strong disapproval of Hamas.

Since October 7th, Hamas has been pressuring its Iranian-supported allies to assist in their fight against Israel. However, Hezbollah has declined direct involvement and has only engaged in minor confrontations with the Israeli Defense Forces along the Lebanon-Israel border.
In response to the initial terrorist attacks, proxy groups based in Syria and Iraq have carried out a minimum of 46 assaults on targets allied with the United States. There are concerns about how the conflict may develop for both sides if tensions persist and a resolution is not swiftly reached.
The Biden administration has urged both parties to implement a “pause” to ensure the safe release of more hostages and the secure delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza City. The intention is to prevent unnecessary suffering for the civilians residing in the area due to the ongoing conflict.
Both sides have yet to reach an agreement on this matter, however, it is hoped that progress can be achieved soon to prevent further casualties and inevitable destruction arising from the ongoing violence in the struggle for control over the land.
