The escalating civil unrest that has plunged Haiti into chaos is a stark warning for the United States and other affluent western nations. It’s not a question of if, but when. The United States, in particular, has been piling millions of desperate individuals on top of an already teetering stack of desperation. Major city politicians from New York to Chicago are openly confessing their inability to accommodate more migrants as social services buckle under the strain. Yet, the influx continues unabated. This unsustainable situation is creating a powder keg that could explode in 2024 and beyond.
For a glimpse into our potential future, we need only look at the current state of affairs in Haiti. After years of disastrous policies, the entire nation has spiraled into anarchy…
Haiti’s slide towards becoming a failed state has accelerated dramatically in recent weeks. Following President Jovenel Moïse’s assassination in 2021, Prime Minister Ariel Henry has been unable to quell gang violence ravaging Port-au-Prince. With gangs now controlling up to 80% of the city, Henry was forced to resign from exile after failing to deploy Kenyan police officers who could have helped restore order.
The conditions in Haiti are nothing short of nightmarish.
A British news outlet likens the current situation to “the post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max”…
Haiti’s descent into chaos continues, with gang leaders still battling despite Prime Minister Ariel Henry’s resignation. As Haitians await a Transitional Governing Council, gangs have looted aid supplies. UNICEF reports that essential items for maternal and child survival were seized by gangs in Port-au-Prince.
Despite this, the Biden administration has decided to open the floodgates for those wishing to flee Haiti and come here.
According to the Washington Examiner, the Department of Homeland Security has already relocated over 130,000 Haitian migrants to various U.S. cities…
The Department of Homeland Security has facilitated the entry of over 130,000 illegal immigrants from gang-ridden Haiti into numerous unidentified American cities. Many arrived in one city that remains undisclosed by the Biden administration.
And more are on their way.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently reported intercepting a boat carrying Haitian migrants armed with guns, drugs and night vision gear off his state’s coast…
“Our Florida Fish and Wildlife offices intercepted a vessel carrying 25 potential illegal immigrants from Haiti. They had firearms, drugs, night vision gear, and were boating recklessly,” DeSantis said. “The vessel was intercepted near the Sebastian Inlet and the illegal aliens were handed over to the Coast Guard for deportation.”
But it’s not just desperate Haitians attempting to enter the United States in droves.
Our borders are under siege from “asylum seekers” worldwide. Migrants have learned that claiming “asylum” is a ticket into the country.
This isn’t limited to our southern border either.
In recent years, there has been an exponential increase in migrants crossing over from Canada…
In fiscal year 2023, border officials encountered 189,401 illegal and inadmissible immigrants along the U.S.–Canada border. Of those, 10,021 were caught crossing illegally between ports of entry. In fiscal 2021, that number was 916.
The southern border sees even more crossings.
We are witnessing a migration tsunami far greater than anything we’ve ever seen before. The following comes from U.S. Senator John Cornyn…
Under President Biden’s leadership, we’ve seen an unprecedented crisis at our southern border. Since President Biden took office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has logged more than 5.4 million illegal border crossings, plus at least 1.5 million “gotaways” – that is, border crossers who were detected by CBP technology but were never apprehended.
Once “asylum seekers” are released into this country, they could literally go anywhere.
A Lebanese migrant caught at the border actually admitted he was a member of Hezbollah and planned to make a bomb in New York City…
A Lebanese migrant caught sneaking over the border admitted he’s a member of Hezbollah and hoped to make a bomb in New York. Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was caught by the US Border Patrol on March 9 near El Paso, Texas. While in custody, he stated his intention to make a bomb.
We were lucky to catch this individual before he could cause harm.
But how many others have successfully entered our country through our porous borders?
Our politicians endlessly discuss “national security threats,” but it’s all empty rhetoric unless they secure our borders.
Without secure borders, our nation will never be secure.
Unfortunately, more desperate people continue to flood over our borders every day, and it won’t be long before we reach a tipping point.
