In a shocking revelation, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the previous director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), conceded that the COVID-19 vaccines have fallen short in preventing long-term infections and transmissions.
This disclosure, which came on Monday, raises serious questions about the policies pursued by the Biden administration, which has been aggressively pushing for vaccine mandates despite their apparent limitations.
While addressing the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, Fauci claims that the vaccines provide protection against severe symptoms of COVID-19, but then admitted that they are less successful in preventing infections. This raises concerns about whether forcing healthy Americans to get vaccinated was a justified move or not.
“Something that we did not know early on, that became evident as the months went by, is that the durability of protection against infection and hence transmission was relatively limited,” Fauci admitted, “whereas the duration of protection against severe disease, hospitalization, and deaths was more prolonged.”
The Committee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) then posed a direct question to Fauci about whether COVID-19 vaccines were “100 percent effective.” In response to this straightforward query from Wenstrup – a Republican representative – Fauci confessed that no vaccine could claim 100% effectiveness.
Furthermore, Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas) questioned why health officials like Fauci took so long to publicize these limitations. The fact that these officials remained silent while Americans lost jobs due to vaccine mandates is deeply troubling. This lack of transparency has only resulted in fostering mistrust among citizens towards public health officials and policies.
“We never heard this messaging coming from you or from anyone else who stood on the sidelines talking about these things, and it’s left the American people with a tremendous distrust,” Cloud said.
This recent development calls for a thorough reassessment of the Biden administration’s approach towards managing this pandemic. It is high time that our leaders prioritize transparency and honesty over political agendas, for the sake of public trust and wellbeing.
