Another Squad Member in Trouble? Rep. Cori Bush’s Primary Opponent Ahead in Poll
Following Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY)’s primary loss in New York, another member of the Squad may be facing trouble, as a new poll shows that Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO)’s opponent, Wesley Bell, is taking the lead.
The poll, conducted by Democrat pollster Mark Mellman’s group and published by Politico, indicated that Bell has managed to overcome a double-digit deficit to surpass Bush.
Bell, serving as St. Louis County’s prosecuting attorney, is only one percentage point ahead of Bush. However, the analysis by the group stated that Bell’s image is improving, while Bush’s is deteriorating, “giving him an overall image advantage.”
“This primary race is essentially tied but clearly moving in Wesley Bell’s direction,” according to the analysis.
The poll was conducted from June 18-22 with a sample size of 400 voters and a margin of error of +/- 4.9 percentage points.
The primary election on August 6, 2024 is still about six weeks away with 11 percent of voters undecided. Nevertheless, the analysis claims that Bell has “achieved a slight edge,” leading at 43 percent compared to Bush’s 42 percent.
Bowman’s loss reportedly unsettled Bush significantly.
It seems like people are growing weary of these left-wing ideologues who fail to represent their constituents effectively.
