While some may question the logic behind it, residents of Canyon Lake, Texas are celebrating the innovative approach to gun rights with the installation of the state’s first ammunition vending machine. This groundbreaking development has been met with widespread approval by those who understand and respect the importance of Second Amendment rights. On the other hand, as expected, liberals have expressed their typical knee-jerk reaction to anything that promotes self-defense and personal freedom.
Contrary to what Democrats might believe, this isn’t just any ordinary vending machine. American Rounds CEO Grant Magers reassured everyone: “As you can see, we have a very secure automated retail machine where we can age verify, scan the driver’s license, and then it takes 360 facial recognitions for the purchase and matches it to the I.D.”
The machine is equipped with advanced security measures including age verification, ID scanning and facial recognition – far more than what is required at any gun show or online transaction – ensuring that ammo doesn’t end up in wrong hands. Yet left-leaning folks still find reason to complain.
In fact, Fran Moore, a local resident who happens to be a Democrat parent was quick to voice her concerns about children visiting a store located less than 200 yards from a middle school where this ammo vending machine is placed. However, she fails to acknowledge the stringent security measures in place which would prevent minors from accessing ammunition.
Ironically enough, employees at Lowe’s Market said they installed this vending machine because their clientele was interested in such an amenity. Clearly indicating that most of their customers appreciate this new addition which contributes positively towards community safety. Scott Conran rightly stated: “I endorse shooting and protection. I think everyone should be able to buy guns and ammo if they are licensed and old enough.”
It’s encouraging to hear that Lowe’s expects to add another vending machine at its Startzville/Canyon Lake location in the near future. It is clear that, despite misplaced fears from those on the left, people in Canyon Lake, Texas respect and uphold their Second Amendment rights.
