Here’s the 9 House Dems Who Tried to Strip Trump of Secret Service Protection

The Secret Service’s role during the (thankfully) unsuccessful attempt on Donald Trump’s life left much to be desired. However, if certain Democrats in the House of Representatives had their way, even that minimal level of protection would have been stripped away.

Nine members from the Democratic party in the House expressed their desire to remove the Secret Service protection assigned to Trump, leaving him vulnerable and exposed to potential threats.

These nine individuals proposed what they termed as the Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act, or the DISGRACED Former Protectees Act. It sought to amend existing laws by denying any candidate with a criminal record eligibility for Secret Service protection.

This bill was introduced by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D, MS), who is infamously known for dismissing a staff member over inappropriate comments wishing harm upon Trump. The proposal was backed by eight other Democratic Representatives: Troy Carter of Louisiana, Barbara Lee of California, Frederica Wilson of Florida, Yvette Clarke of New York, Bonnie Watson Coleman of New Jersey, Jasmine Crockett of Texas, Joyce Beatty of Ohio, and Steve Cohen of Tennessee.

In spite of all that transpired at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally where his security appeared compromised due to lackadaisical efforts from the Secret Service, these Democrats didn’t believe he deserved even that degree of protection. Their actions speak volumes about their intent towards Donald Trump.
