With Kamala Harris now leading the Democratic Party’s ticket this fall, certain views she holds have become a focal point of discussion. Critics assert that leftist elites sidelined Joe Biden due to his alleged diminishing mental capabilities. One topic that has grabbed headlines is Harris’ advocacy for taxpayer-funded transgender healthcare, which includes body-altering treatments and surgeries.
It was during her tenure as California’s Attorney General that Harris championed for such treatments to be covered for prison inmates in the state. In a video interview, she admitted working “behind the scenes” to ensure taxpayers footed the bill for these procedures.
In the video interview, Harris states, “I learned that the California Department of Corrections… they were standing in the way of surgeries for prisoners. When I learned I worked behind the scenes to make sure not only that woman got the services… they changed the policy in the state of California so that every transgender inmate in the state would have access to the medical care they desired and need.”
While proponents refer to it as ‘medical care’, critics contend that it involves administering body-altering drugs and conducting cosmetic surgeries which sometimes require removal of healthy body parts. These procedures often come with hefty price tags running into tens of thousands of dollars.
