It’s no surprise that Nancy Pelosi continues to display her blatant disregard for Republican leaders and former President Donald Trump. In a shocking new report, Pelosi is quoted making inflammatory statements such as “We’re out to get you, you’re dead,” and labeling Trump a fascist. Such rhetoric is not only divisive but also dangerous, especially in the wake of an assassination attempt against the former president.
American Military News reports:
According to The Washington Post, Pelosi pounded on a table nine times in the recent interview as she detailed the reasoning for her opposition to President Joe Biden’s campaign following the disastrous debate in June. Explaining that her opposition to Biden continuing as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate was only due to her opposition to Trump, Pelosi said, “My goal in life was that that man would never set foot in the White House again.”
Throughout the interview, Pelosi described Trump as “unpatriotic” and compared him to fascists due to his criticism of mainstream media outlets. When questioned regarding similarities between the title of her book and Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal,” Pelosi said, “Nothing that I do has anything to do with him, except his downfall.”
Pelosi’s comments come after Biden urged Americans last month during an Oval Office address to tone down political rhetoric following the assassination attempt against the former president. “We can’t allow this violence to be normalized,” Biden said in his Oval Office speech. “The political rhetoric in this country has gotten very heated. It’s time to cool it down. And we all have a responsibility to do that.”
The Washington Post reported that Pelosi’s comments came during a recent interview for her new book, “The Art of Power,” which provides new insight into the California representative’s long political career.
