Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has been known to take a hardline stance against those who oppose them, even going as far as arresting a reporter from Blaze for asking probing questions about the events of January 6th. However, their audacity doesn’t stop there.
Rebel News, one of the few Canadian media outlets that have not succumbed to federal subsidies, is perhaps targeted due to its unique coverage of stories often overlooked by other media houses.
Not more than two weeks ago, the world expressed outrage over the actions of Canada’s federal police (RCMP), who seemed to be acting as Trudeau’s liberal party’s political arm. They arrested David Menzies while he was attempting to question the Deputy Prime Minister on a public sidewalk.
This week saw Rebel News launching a lawsuit against the police for wrongful arrest. Yet, shockingly, Menzies was arrested again on Friday while performing his journalistic duties without any explanation.
Menzies was covering a protest and interviewing a well-known pro-Palestine protester when he was abruptly apprehended by the police right on a public street.
Ezra Levant, Menzies’s boss at Rebel News, shared an update upon Menzies’s release from jail:
Menzies also reported on his arrest, highlighting the false claim that he refused to present his ID despite video evidence of him handing it over to the police.
Interestingly, while Menzies’s ID was returned to him, his hat was confiscated as ‘evidence’.
It’s worth noting that the site of the protest was chosen by two different groups because Trudeau was hosting a fundraiser there that day, likely charging more than $1000 per plate.
