FBI Unleashes Another Assault on Free Speech: Election Censorship Campaign Revived!

During the 2020 election season, the FBI played a significant role in suppressing damaging yet accurate information about Joe Biden. The scandals and profit-driven international business schemes found on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop were all true. However, the FBI inaccurately labeled them as Russian disinformation.

Post-election polling suggested that this scandal alone could have cost President Trump the election. Now, it appears that the FBI is gearing up to repeat its actions.

The Federalist recently reported that Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, confirmed federal agencies like the FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have resumed discussions with Big Tech to suppress information they find objectionable.

The report further revealed that this coordination will focus on ‘removing disinformation on their sites as the November presidential election nears.’ However, it’s not clear if these government agencies can repeat their previous actions. This question is currently pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The FBI confirmed to The Federalist that it has resumed issuing censorship instructions to social media companies. It remains committed to combatting foreign malign influence operations, including those connected with elections. This effort includes sharing specific foreign threat information with state and local election officials and private sector companies when appropriate and rigorously consistent with the law.

The report also highlighted how CISA was less forthcoming and declined to comment on the issue. Neither agency identified specific companies they are targeting or defined what constitutes “disinformation”. In fact, shortly after coming into power, the Biden administration pressured social media companies to censor COVID-related posts they deemed to be ‘misinformation,’ even if such posts contained factually accurate information.

Regarding the 2020 election, the report explained that the FBI pushed its censorship by “flagging posts” for social media companies to target. House Republicans reported just months ago that CISA’s censorship scheming was wider than previously thought. According to their analysis, CISA along with the State Department’s Global Engagement Center (GEC) colluded with Stanford University to pressure Big Tech companies into censoring what they claimed to be ‘disinformation’ during the 2020 election.

The censorship industry included the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), which consisted of a wide range of so-called “disinformation” activists. The question remains: will we see a repeat of this in the upcoming elections?
