Officer Brutally Slain in Cold-Blooded Ambush While Pursuing Stolen Vehicle

In a tragic incident that underscores the dangerous conditions law enforcement officers face every day, a Sheriff’s Deputy in Oakland County, Michigan was brutally murdered while pursuing a stolen vehicle. At a time when Democrats have been pushing for defunding the police, this event serves as a harsh reminder of the vital role our brave officers play in maintaining public safety and order.

Deputy Bradley Reckling, who had dedicated nine years of his life to serving his community, was shot in cold blood on Saturday night.

An Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy was working to recover a stolen vehicle when he was killed in Detroit in what Sheriff Michael Bouchard called an ambush.

According to Bouchard, Deputy Bradley Reckling and two other detectives with the auto theft unit were looking for a stolen 2022 Chevrolet Equinox on Saturday night after it was reported stolen from Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights earlier in the day.

Reckling was behind the stolen Equinox in the area of Schoenherr and Park Grove streets on Detroit’s east side around 10:50 p.m. when the vehicle suddenly stopped and people got out. The suspects started shooting, hitting Reckling in the head and chest. The two other detectives who were nearby in their own vehicles were not hit.

As we mourn Deputy Reckling’s untimely death, it’s important to remember that he is survived by three young children aged five, four, one, and a wife who is expecting their fourth child. While no amount of money can compensate for their loss, an online donation has been set up to provide financial support for Deputy Reckling’s family.

In these challenging times, we need more than ever to stand with our law enforcement officers and oppose any attempts to undermine or defund them.
