After President Joe Biden’s announcement that he will not seek re-election in 2024, former President Donald Trump has sharply criticized both the current president and the Democratic Party. In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump blasted Biden’s capability to lead and questioned the circumstances surrounding his decision to withdraw from the race.
In an initial post on Truth Social, Trump didn’t hold back his thoughts about Biden’s presidency: “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement. All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t.”
Trump continued his criticism by highlighting what he views as major failures during Biden’s tenure. Particularly, he drew attention to the crisis at the southern border under Biden’s administration which has seen millions of illegal immigrants entering the United States. Additionally, Trump expressed concern over how these actions would negatively impact our nation but remained hopeful about rectifying this damage after November election.
On another note, Trump also questioned whether Biden truly contracted COVID-19 last week or used it as a convenient excuse to exit from presidential race. The former president wrote in another post: “Does anybody really believe that Crooked Joe had Covid? No, he wanted to get out ever since June 27th, the night of The Debate… That was the big moment in Joe Biden’s demise.”
Trump further criticized the Democratic Party’s decision to push Biden out of the race, arguing that it goes against the will of their 2024 primary voters. He contended that the Democrats are the real “THREAT TO DEMOCRACY” for stealing the race from Biden after he had won it in primaries.
