Trump Tower Surrounded by SWAT Teams

On April 6th, 2023, a woman entered Trump Tower in Chicago carrying an assault rifle, causing the building to go into lockdown and a large police presence to swarm the area. Reports of the incident have been confirmed by multiple sources.

The woman reportedly entered the 27th floor of the 100-story building in downtown Chicago, prompting a response from SWAT teams and other law enforcement officers. People were urged to stay away from the area while police investigated.

The incident has caused panic among many people who live and work in the area. The Trump International Hotel and Tower is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, so it’s understandable why people are concerned about what happened.

A section of the building was put under a temporary lockdown. Steve, a resident who was outside the building briefly, was not allowed to go back inside his home.

“I was just doing some housework and some cooking, and I decided to take some air,” Steve explained. “I came down to the lobby and I was quickly escorted away from the lobby, out of the building and was told not to come back until it was clear.

“I asked several times what was going on, and they wouldn’t acknowledge,” he added.

Police have not released any information about the woman or her motives for entering the building with a weapon. It is unclear if she was alone or accompanied by anyone else at this time. However, authorities are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

This isn’t the first time that Trump Tower has been involved in an incident like this one. In 2017, there was also an armed standoff between police and an individual who had barricaded himself inside of the building. Fortunately, that situation ended peacefully without any injuries or deaths reported.
