Watch: Buttigieg’s Attempt to Appear Intelligent Backfires Spectacularly!

In a display of blatant disregard for the concerns of everyday Americans, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg chose to take his condescending attitude to Fox News, where he blatantly mocked those hesitant about being pushed into purchasing electric vehicles (EVs).

During the interview, co-host John Roberts presented undeniable evidence of the struggles plaguing the electric vehicle market. “Tesla sales fell 8.5% the first quarter of this year,” Roberts highlighted. Furthermore, he pointed out, “Ford this week is laying off two thirds of its workforce at the F-150 electric lightning plant. It’s also scaling back a battery production facility because of sagging sales.” This stark reality paints a grim picture for an industry that the current administration has been relentlessly promoting.

Roberts went on to challenge Buttigieg directly, stating, “EV sales are nowhere near what this president wanted or expected, yet the administration continues to shove them down consumers throats. Why?” In response, Buttigieg dismissed these significant concerns with a wave of his hand and claimed it was “clear” consumers want EVs, ignoring Tesla’s declining figures and industry layoffs.

“Let’s be clear that the automotive sector is moving toward EVs, and we can’t pretend otherwise,” Buttigieg arrogantly asserted. His comparison to landline phones was as dismissive as it was misguided: “Sometimes when these debates happen, I feel like it’s the early 2000s and I’m talking to some people who think that we can just have landline phones forever.”

Buttigieg’s analogy fails miserably when considering that landlines persisted due to governmental inaction on updating emergency services and affordability issues with cellphones – challenges eerily similar to those currently facing EV adoption.

The arrogance didn’t stop there. When Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm embarked on an EV road trip, her team ended up causing a scene at a charging station during a hot summer day – leading to police involvement when they reserved a charging spot for themselves while a family with an infant waited in distress.

This incident highlights not only the impracticality of current EV infrastructure but also the entitlement mentality pervasive within this administration. The NPR reported extensively on this debacle, aptly noting EVs’ significant “roadtrip problem.”

The evidence is clear: The push for electric vehicles under this administration is not about consumer choice or environmental stewardship; it’s about control and condescension towards American values and practicality. When will they start listening to real Americans instead of mocking them?
