Ex-CNN Host, Betrayed and Booted, Fights Back by Boldly Running as a Republican!

Indeed, Brian Stelter, a former CNN host who was let go during Discovery’s takeover, is now seeking a political role as a Republican. This is an unexpected turn of events considering his past criticism of conservative media outlets.

Stelter has thrown his hat in the ring for a position on the Readington Township, New Jersey school board. This news was reported by David Wildstein of the New Jersey Globe.

In an ironic twist, Stelter’s decision to run as a Republican comes after he spent much of his career criticizing conservative media outlets. His show “Reliable Sources” was cancelled in August 2022 and he subsequently left CNN.

The cancellation was described by Associated Press as the “first prominent” casualty in CNN’s attempt to appear less partisan. Chris Licht, who became network chairman and CEO in spring that year, and his superior David Zaslav had made it clear they wanted to reduce political confrontation on their channel.

However, Licht was later ousted after hosting a town hall with former President Trump. Following his departure, CNN abandoned its shift towards the middle ground and instead focused on salary cuts.
